Chiropractic is a specialized approach to diagnosis, examination, treatment and management based on the best available research and clinical evidence, with particular emphasis on the relationship between the spine and nervous system. It has the ability to improve function in the neuromuscoloskeletal system, overall health and quality of life. In short, we are the posture, nerve and spinal health care experts.
How can Spinecare Chiropractic help you?
The spine is a very complex and intricate structure. So when dealing with the spine, it requires unique expertise in diagnosing the different conditions that may occur in the spine.
Although there are many extravagant claims about the different methods in treating the various conditions of the spine, no treatment is a one size fits all approach. What is more important is that whatever name the clinician is called, the clinician has to be familiar with the latest research about the spine and are practicing evidence based care to make the correct diagnosis before treating.
Here at Spinecare chiropractic, we are committed to evidence based care. By first making the correct diagnosis, we are able to provide you with the most up to date and scientific approach to get you the best results.
Firstly, your safety depends on being diagnosed correctly. That is why we take the initial consultation seriously to thoroughly evaluate your condition. Relevant clinical exams will be performed thoroughly. If required, we will refer you for further tests such as xrays before arriving at a diagnosis.
Secondly, we believe in a multi-disciplinary approach to health care. We strive to co-operate with your GP and any other professionals that form part of your health care team. If we determine that yours is not a chiropractic case, we will refer you to the appropriate practitioner.
Thirdly, research has shown that spinal manipulations- when done correctly, expertly and in the right clinical setting, is very safe. Admittedly while there is risk associated with any type of treatment, the benefits of spinal manipulations far outweigh its risks. References

Why is a course of treatment necessary?
During your initial consultation, you will be thoroughly examined to determine if you are a suitable candidate for chiropractic care. If that proves to be the case, often times, a course of treatment is necessary.
Research has shown that spinal manipulation is dose dependant and it has a cumulative effect over time. More often than not, spinal pain slowly develops over time and creeps up on you. Like a tooth decay or heart disease, you won’t notice it until it becomes annoying/severe (people always say it happens suddenly, out of the blue). Most spinal pain is chronic. Why?
This is due to the fact that maintaining healthy spinal alignment is all about the control of the surrounding muscles by the brain and nervous system. IT IS NOT based on the strength of your muscles. When this control mechanism breaks down over time, due to poor posture amongst other things, injury and then pain slowly develops.
Here at Spinecare chiropractic, we design a rehabilitation program specific to your case. Skilled spinal manipulation, in combination with good postural habits, nutrition and the correct exercises will ensure that you achieve a lasting change in your posture and spinal health. References
Can I be helped with chiropractic care after back surgery?
Having back surgery is a big decision to make and needs to be done as an absolute last resort. Chiropractic care, a much less invasive option, has been proven to be safe and effective in treating and managing spinal problems. We will thoroughly evaluate your case and work closely with your GP or orthopedic specialists to arrive at the best outcome for you.
If you have already had surgery, chiropractic care may be suitable for you. As we value your safety, thorough evaluation by the chiropractor will be necessary before starting chiropractic care.
Is chiropractic suitable for children?
The short answer is yes and no. Admittedly, science does not have all the answers yet when it comes to treating babies and toddlers with chiropractic care. However, there are growing numbers of case studies showing the positive effects of chiropractic care on babies and toddlers.
Once a child has started walking and their spine adopts an upright posture, chiropractic care is warranted. Poor posture starts young and deteriorates over time as they grow older. When it comes to treating your baby or child, their safety is our most important priority.
Unlike adults, we utilize a different approach when it comes to treating the little ones. We will conduct a thorough evaluation to assess your baby/child’s suitability for care.
